To ensure that our clients can get maximum utilization of their investment in Virtual Consultations for patient care and to embed the use of these into the normal day to day operations of their clinics, HSL work with a number of integration partners who, along with HSL, will scope each specific requirement for the use Virtual Consultations in a way that meets the needs of your clinic and your patients.
Zoom currently have native integration with EPIC,Cerner, MS Teams and additional integration with an further 87 other EPR’s via their middleware partner. You can find more details on the link here.
Savience Connect is an appointment integration platform that combines inputs from multiple hospital systems in a single screen. Connect provides a patient-centric view of appointment schedules that will help both your patients and staff.
In the UK NHS and Ireland, Connect is found as a key integrator within all of the hospital and community based appointment systems currently in use. Connect automatically pulls in the most current information from EMRs, HIS/HERs, and PAS, making it easy for health professionals to quickly view any appointment that has been scheduled. Today and into the future.
Technically, Savience Connect supports HL7 messaging and Robotic Process Automation (RPA). It adds up to a comprehensive solution for managing scheduling, tracking patient demographics, and displaying real-time appointment information. Combining multiple system inputs, Connect joins all the dots of your healthcare provider's appointment processes into one view.
But it's not just one way.
Connect delivers updated data back to the originating system. Patient arrivals, demographic updates, clinic notes and examination results can all be uploaded into the patient record. HL7 bi-directional messages are at the heart of many of our hospital deployments. In the NHS and Ireland, System-C, Lorenzo OPD, Cerner and iPMS have HL7 message flows. Support in Emergency Departments is provided in Canada with HL7 links to eCTAS and in the NHS for the Emergency Care Data Set (ECDS).
Savience Connect has evolved into a fully functioning Robotic Process Automation (RPA) platform, with multiple integrations to top medical systems including Cerner, Meditech, Allscripts, Clinicom and Lorenzo. Integration workflows for the industry's most common medical systems are included in the platform, which can be extended to custom interfaces or existing applications.
Savience Connect is supported by an experienced team of system integration experts who work with the HSL Service Teams and it can be customised to include new functionality as it becomes available. Savience Connect was built with a design that allows for additional functionality to be added as it becomes available, providing flexibility and scalability.
We make it easy to install and reconfigure Savience Connect and keep up with the latest updates. This service has been implemented in the Gestational Diabetes Department in the Western Trust which won the BMJ award for Innovation in Quality Improvement.
We also partner with Lyniate who have their Rhapsody software which is used by over 70 NHS organisations across all care settings including GP Practices. EMIS is one of their partners.
In terms of EPIC, Lyniate have integrated with them across 60 sites worldwide and Rhapsody will be used to integrate with the EPIC EPR across Northern Ireland as part of the Encompass programme which is currently underway.
There are many integrations that Lyniate have done, since their product is over 20 years old, they have a lot of experience within this sector and have worked with nearly all healthcare systems including all of the EPRs.
Pexip’s integrations allow you and your teams to seamlessly connect to the tools, systems, and programs you use already to get work done.
Pexip integrates easily with many meeting services, regardless of whether Pexip is hosted in the cloud or on-premises including:
Pexip allows for any-to-any video interoperability with Microsoft Teams. This means that Pexip enables third-party professional video conference equipment to join Teams meetings. Participants outside of an organization can join a Microsoft Teams meeting with the video solution of their choice, and employees can continue to use the Teams workflow they are accustomed to.

We are impressed by the simplicity and elegance of the solution that was presented to us by HSL. Being able to intervene, support our colleagues and conduct remote consultations with the patient from a tablet or phone has changed how we work and speeds up diagnosis and time critical treatments. Time is of the essence when treating someone who has had a stroke, so literally every minute counts. The Telehealth platform has the potential to make a significant contribution to improved patient outcomes after stroke, especially during late evening and overnight periods.

Telehealth has played a vital role during the Coronavirus pandemic as it has enabled our team to conduct a number of urgent video-consultations for patients at home which have obviated the need for them to come to the emergency department. Parental anxiety has been more heightened than usual due to the pandemic, therefore we have found that supporting families at home with regular video-consultations has helped to reduce stress, reduce health service utilisation and is much appreciated by parents and clinicians alike.

In addition to the streamlined workflow which the system offers that enables our team to treat more patients more effectively, the adaptability of the system means that the same technology can be used for diagnostic imaging of patients ranging from paediatrics to elderly patients. The technology will also help our team to answer the growing demand for chest x-rays as patients dealing with prolonged ‘long-Covid’ symptoms continue to present with ongoing imaging requirements.
